Intel Imitates the Mac Mini
A new prototype by Wintel which openly imitates the Mac Mini will be showcased this week. Intel wants to prove thats its chips are as good as any in the tiny PCs market. The PC will be based on the Pentium M CPU and will run Microsoft Windows.
I don't think this poses much of threat to Apple. But, it does show that Intel feels threatened by Apple! Instead of trying to clone the Mac Mini, maybe Intel should try to innovate. This is the perfect example of too little, too late. |

Approval for Indiana Jones Script
According to ComingSoon.net, George Lucas and Steven Spielberg have approved the script for Indiana Jones 4 written by Jeff Nathanson. Harrison Ford still hasn't read and signed off on the script though. They should hurry up before Ford is walking around with a cane! I classify this project as "highly probable that it will never see the light of day", the idea has been in the air for too long. |

Will It Launch ?
Space shuttle Discovery could set off as early as July 13. Will it be safe enough for its crew? Of course, NASA is taking all sorts of precautions to make sure their next shuttle flight doesn't go wrong. You have to keep in mind though, that the fleet is 20 years old!
Of course, I believe that pursuing space travel is very important. I also believe that NASA should stop trying to fix the old fleet and invest in a new one. Even if that leaves us with a decade or so with no shuttle flights. Still, I can't wait to see how the flight goes in July! |

Samsung's Flash-Based Disk Drive
Samsung announced today that it has developped a Solid State Disk (SSD) with a capacity of up to 16GB. If flash technology keeps advancing this way, we should all have them in our computers very shortly. Imagine battery life on your laptop with a SSD. Of course, SSDs are also lighter and much faster. Flash-based drives based on the new technology are expected on the market by August on some notebooks and tablet PCs. I can't wait to see how this all unfolds on the computer market! |

Bush to Veto Stem Cell Legislation
Even if the whole House of Representatives, in the US, votes for a stem cell bill next week, Bush vowed to veto the legislation. How can one man have the right to stop the advance of medical science ? Stem cells could potentially help find cures for Alzheimer's, paralysis and juvenile diabetes.
Bush said :"I made it very clear to the Congress that the use of federal money, taxpayers' money, to promote science which destroys life in order to save life - I'm against that." Isn't Bush using taxpayers' money to promote war ? A war which destroys life and I don't believe it's saving lives a whole lot ! |

Star Wars Premieres Tonight
Unless you've been living under a rock recently, you all know that Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith is premiering tonight ! I'll wait a while before I go and see it, but from all the reviews I've been reading, the movie is going to be amazing.
I already did the wait-in-line-24-hours thing back in 1999 for Star Wars I: The Phantom Menace. I don't know yet if I'll take my lightsaber out of the closet though . If you're going to see it soon, please tell us how it was !!! |

Star Trek Ending
Tonight will be the last episode of Star Trek: Enterprise on UPN. Of course, I don't get this channel, but it will be shown sometime in the future here on canadian TV. It's worth mentionning that next year will be the first in 18 years with no new Star Trek episodes . In this last episode, you will be able to see two favorites from Star Trek: The Next Generation, Riker and Troi. Although several decades separate the two series, nothing is impossible with time travel or the holodeck. With this and the last Star Wars movie coming up, it's a difficult month for fans of sci-fi ! I hope all you geeks out there (don't worry, I'm one of you) won't be too sad. |

Flight Rule #1: Don't Go Over the White House
The White House and U.S. Capitol were just evacuated because someone violated airspace over the White House. Shouldn't the first thing they teach at Flight School be not to go over the WhiteHouse ? The pilot was lucky the F-16 aircrafts only shot warning flares at him! If you ever want to learn to fly planes, remember this rule . |

Molson Ex Light Commercials
I vote to ban the Molson Ex Light commercials forever. The concept of these commercials has been overused and I can no longer bare to watch them. They really need to hire new people and find a new concept fast. It was funny the first time, but now I just don't get why they keep it going. I don't even like beer, but if I did, that commercial would stop me from drinking Molson Ex Light beer. Please, no more women who get their shirts socked with beer! |

Google Down This Weekend
Anyone else notice that Google was down during the past weekend ? I even had to resort to good old Yahoo! for a minute there . I can't remember any other time when it went down in the past. It appears the problems were DNS related. Let's hope this never happens again, Google is a pretty essential tool on the net. Still, it was fun being there for this moment in history... I think. |

Gmail Invites
I know that probably everyone has already a Gmail account by now, but for the person that doesn't have one, I have tons of invites to give away. Accounts are now up to 2175 Mb and I wonder how anyone can ever reach that limit ! The 2 people who have Hotmail Plus must be crying right now . |
