There is no global warming!
|
At least, this is what President Bush believes. The United States, as powerful as they are, have the possibility to change things. But it sure won't happen during the Bush administration, because Bush says that science still can't prove that gas or other combustors are the cause of global warming. The thing is, science is very capable of proving all these facts...
Last week, the National Academy of Sciences and 10 other leading world bodies released this joint statement on climate (source: USA Today):
- Significant global warming is occurring. - It has caused increases in sea levels, retreats of glaciers and changes in many biological systems. - Most warming in recent decades can likely be attributed to human activities, largely from developed countries. - Action taken now to reduce the build-up of greenhouse gases will lessen the magnitude and rate of climate change. - Failure to implement reductions now will make the job more difficult in the future.
Of course, the US emits more greenhouse gases than anyone, over 25% of the world total. In this article, I think the author is right on the mark saying: "it wouldn't be surprising if President Bush believes the Earth is flat and the Moon is made out of green cheese."
Even Mr. Schwarzenegger wants California to reduce gas emissions by 80% in the next 50 years. The Governor said: "We know the science, we see the threat, and the time for action is now." The entire world is moving to save our planet except the US... money won't mean anything if we're all gone! |
